Demoshot is a macOS desktop application for screen recording and editing. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
Demoshot does not collect, transmit, or store your screen recordings, video content, audio content, or any media you create. All recordings are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party service. Your creative work stays on your Mac.
3. Data We Collect
We collect a limited amount of data to operate and improve Demoshot:
License Activation
When you activate your license, we process your license key and a machine identifier to verify your purchase. This data is handled by LemonSqueezy, our payment and licensing provider.
Crash Reports
Demoshot automatically sends crash reports when the application encounters an error. These reports contain technical information such as stack traces, operating system version, and hardware model. Crash reports do not contain screen recordings, video content, or any of your personal files.
Purchase Information
When you purchase Demoshot, your payment information (name, email address, and payment details) is collected and processed by LemonSqueezy as the merchant of record. We do not directly store your payment details.
4. How We Use Your Data
- License verification — to confirm your purchase and activate the Software
- Crash diagnosis — to identify and fix bugs in the Software
- Customer support — to respond to your inquiries and provide assistance
5. Third-Party Services
Demoshot relies on the following third-party service:
- LemonSqueezy — handles payment processing, license management, and acts as merchant of record. LemonSqueezy may collect and process data in accordance with their own Privacy Policy.
6. macOS Permissions
Demoshot requests the following macOS permissions to function:
- Screen Recording — required to capture your screen content. The recorded data is processed locally and is never transmitted off your device.
- Microphone — optional, used to record audio narration alongside your screen recording. Audio data stays on your device.
7. Data Storage & Security
Crash reports are stored on secure servers and retained only as long as needed to diagnose and resolve issues. License activation data is managed by LemonSqueezy according to their security practices. We do not maintain a separate database of your personal information.
8. Children's Privacy
Demoshot is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
